Another Glorious Winner for Nathaniel

First-season sire Nathaniel enjoyed another winner today with Glencadem Glory landing the high-class DFS British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden over 1m at Doncaster, beating several well regarded 2yos.
Jockey Frankie Dettori had a determined game plan from the moment the stalls opened, taking Glencadem Glory to the front and bringing the entire field to the stands' side rail.  Both Hydroxide and The Anvil passed the winner in the final furlong but Dettori and Glencadem Glory stuck to their task well, fighting back gamely to get in front at the line for owner Angus Dundee Distillers plc.
Trainer John Gosden was delighted with Glencadem Glory's victory and explained how the horse reminded him of the two-year-old's sire, Nathaniel (who Gosden also trained).
"The idea was, because they are young horses, to take him across to the rail and let him see the rail," said Gosden.
"I thought he did well to make all into a headwind and I thought Frankie did well to keep a bit more up his sleeve. He gave him two flicks and he went on again. We're thrilled with him. He's grown a lot this year but still hasn't filled his frame out. He'll be a lot better after having a nice winter off, coming back in the spring and I think that will do him a bundle of good.
"I ran his father (Nathaniel) in this race and he was beaten a nose. I ran him twice as a two-year-old and put him away. It would be wise to do the same with Glencadam Glory. He reminds me of Nathaniel in many ways - he's a bundle of nervous energy, lovely action, good mind and very genuine. He always wants to give you 110% every day - though we don't want that. So we'll just quietly bring him on - but he's got the talent."

Bred by DJ and Mrs Deer, Glencadem Glory is out of the Listed winning mare Lady Grace, and is a half-brother to Listed winner in Germany Penmaen and from the family of Group 1 Falmouth Stakes winner Giofra.
